Welcome to Castries City!  This is largest city in Saint Lucia and serves as the main economic, cultural, and political center of the country. Castries is surrounded by lush hills and is known for its vibrant markets, historic landmarks, and beautiful waterfront.  The Castries Constituency Council (CCC) is a local government body responsible for the administration and development of the Castries constituency in Saint Lucia. It was established to oversee the affairs of the capital city, Castries, and its surrounding areas.

The CCC was officially formed in 2005 under the Local Government Act of Saint Lucia. The Act aimed to decentralize governance and empower local communities by creating local government structures throughout the country. The establishment of the CCC was part of this broader initiative. The council operates under the guidance of an elected mayor and councillors who represent various districts within the Castries constituency. The mayor and councillors are elected through a democratic process, allowing residents to have a say in local governance. The primary objective of the CCC is to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Castries by providing essential services, maintaining infrastructure, promoting economic development, and preserving the cultural heritage of the city.

Over the years, the CCC has been involved in various initiatives and projects to improve the city of Castries. This includes the development of public spaces, parks, and recreational facilities, the management of waste collection and disposal, maintenance of roads and drainage systems, promotion of tourism, and implementation of community development programs.

The CCC also plays a role in promoting and organizing events and festivals within the city, such as the Saint Lucia Carnival and other cultural celebrations.

By focusing on the specific needs and priorities of the Castries constituency, the CCC aims to foster a sense of community, improve living conditions, and contribute to the overall development of the capital city.
